Performance

There are two engine options for the Ford Bronco. There's a turbocharged 2.3-liter 300-hp four-cylinder engine that comes standard and an optional twin-turbo 2.7-liter 330-hp V6. Both powertrains have a 10-speed automatic transmission and can tow upwards of 3,500 pounds. A seven-speed manual transmission is also available with the smaller engine.

Fuel Economy

The Ford Bronco has two separate fuel economies depending on the powertrain equipped. According to the EPA, the four-cylinder engine with the automatic transmission gets around 20 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Meanwhile, the V6 offers 17 mpg in the city and on the highway.

Design

As a rival to the Jeep Wrangler, the Bronco has similar features. This includes being offered as a four-door or two-door model, having a soft- or hard-top roof, and offering removable body panels. The Bronco also has a rack built into the dash, allowing smartphones and GoPro's to be mounted.

As Germantown Hills shoppers might expect, all Bronco models with two doors are smaller than those with four. However, the two-door model still provides enough space in the back seat to fit two adults comfortably. As for its cargo area, both models have plenty of room, though the four-door model is 1.5 times larger than the two-door variant.

With its open-air design, Ford has installed rubber flooring and marine-grade vinyl upholstery, so the cabin fares better against the elements. However, leather upholstery is offered for a more luxurious experience. Also, since the door is removable, Ford has opted to mount the side mirrors on the base of the windshield.

Technology

As you cruise through El Paso, IL, or the trails near Carlock, you'll be entertained on your travels thanks to the various technologies offered. The center dash, for instance, has a 12.0-inch touchscreen running on Ford's latest in-dash Sync 4 software. Over-the-air updates and wireless connection to the cloud and passengers' smartphones can be found on the infotainment system.

While Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot are also standard. All models also feature a seven-speaker setup for your audio entertainment. A more powerful 10-speaker B&O stereo is offered in an optional package.

Safety Features

To ensure passenger safety, Ford has equipped the Bronco with a host of advanced driver-aids. Basic features include a hill start assist, automatic emergency braking, hill descent control, and trailer sway damping. However, more features like rear parking sensors, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, and lane-keeping assistance are available but only in the optional Mid Package upgrade.
