Metamora, Illinois near Eureka, Illinois

Here at Mangold Ford, we couldn’t be happier to host our dealership near the village of Metamora in the center of the great state of Illinois. The town’s rich history goes all the way back to the 1800s, and it continues to thrive today.
The Village of Metamora is about 18 miles north of Peoria, and was once the county seat of Woodford County. It was originally settled in 1842 and called Hanover, until the name was changed to Metamora in 1843.  Many historic sites are in the village, including the Metamora Courthouse. This is one of only two remaining circuit courthouses in which Abraham Lincoln practiced law, and is a State Historic Site. In the courthouse, President Lincoln argued more than 70 cases ranging from harboring slaves to murder. History buffs can also check out the Adlai E. Stevenson I Home and the Villiger Blacksmith Shop.
There are tons of places to go, things to see, and foods to try near Metamora.  Between the impressive pieces in the museum and the gorgeous peace garden, there is something for everyone at the Ronald Reagan Museum & Peace Garden at Eureka College, where Reagan presented a speech long ago. Nearby, your kids will be delighted to check out the PlayHouse, which aims to inspire the children of today to become the explorers of the future. This museum has been around for more than ten years, becoming a local staple.
Of course, whether you’re driving through one of the nearby towns or happen to be a life-long resident of Metamora, consider visiting us at Mangfold Ford, where we’d love to set you up with your new favorite car.
