Eureka, Illinois is located in the heart of the Midwest. It is small-town America at its finest, which is why Mangold Ford loves being a part of the Eureka community.
The city center of Eureka was first laid out in 1855 by John Darst. Since then, the small town has continued to grow and currently has over 5,000 residents. Farming and agriculture is a significant part of Eureka’s economy.
Despite being a small town, Eureka has a wide reach, most notably through Eureka College. Its most famous alumnus is President Ronald Reagan, who graduated in 1932. Since then, the college maintained a strong relationship with President Reagan until his death and continues to honor his legacy with the Reagan Forward initiative, Ronald Reagan Museum, and Peace Garden.
If you’re looking for something to do in Eureka, head to Lake Eureka Park which includes a 36-acre lake and 240 acres of parkland. There you can enjoy an afternoon picnic and even take in a little fishing. You can also enjoy our 18-hole Frisbee golf course or play a round of golf at the Kaufman Park Golf Course.
Eureka College isn’t the only notable educational institution. Eureka High School has success in athletics and also boasts one of the best marching bands in the state—state champions from 2008 through 2010.
Each year, Eureka also holds a series of family fun events as part of the Reagan Festival. In lieu of a large festival, these events include family movie nights at the park, a rodeo, Halloween activities, and more.
